The basic stuff

​Hello! I write fiction for children and teens, and run workshops for children, teens and adults. I am represented by the heroic Bryony Woods of Diamond Kahn & Woods Literary Agency.

My latest books are On Silver Tides and Under Golden Seas, fantasy novels for teens.

​The extra stuff (informational icing)

I grew up in Redhill, England, where I spent an entire childhood reading fiction and dreaming up stories. I then tried very hard to get to grips with the real world by studying politics and going in to social science research. This was a shock. Thankfully, I discovered improvised comedy at university, which allowed me to carry on making up stories for at least 30% of my waking hours.

Now I write my stories down, and I use my background in improv to run writing workshops that focus on creativity and generating ideas. I still perform comedy, including shows with Degrees of Error,  Ghostwriters, Impromptu Shakespeare, This Is Your Musical, and Closer Each Day.
